Every year there is a contest put on by the amazing guys behind Shoot & Share, it’s basically March Madness for photographers but in January-March. This is a worldwide contest with over 330,000 photos submitted this year into 25 different categories. The voting is all anonymous and so addicting! This year I submitted the max amount of photos which was 50. I had received an email that one of my photos had done well in the contest and to be watching for it but as they announced each place and I wasn’t in there I honestly had started thinking that they had sent the email to the wrong person. There was no way that one of my photos had placed in the top 10! Thursday March 16 I was looking through the winners and there it was…one of my photos had won first place. I started shaking, I could not believe it. I grabbed my phone and immediately called my husband. He answered and all I could say was “I won first place”, he couldn’t understand me though since I was crying and I basically screamed it into the phone. A few more repeats and he finally got the message. It was so fun to have that moment with him. I had 18 of my 50 photos receive a badge, it still blows my mind!
I want to thank all of my amazing photography friends who have pushed me, taught me and encouraged me to keep going. I have grown so much because of them and I truly cherish each and every relationship. I have been blessed with the best that is for sure! I can’t forget to thank my amazing friend Teresa…without her this first place picture would not have been possible, that amazing hoop bouquet was all her idea!
Lastly I want to thank all of you for always supporting me and allowing me into your lives to capture all of your special moments. I absolutely love what I do and I have the most amazing clients in the whole world. I can not wait to see what 2017 is going to bring- it is already off to an AMAZING start!
